This guy was practically born into this. I guess his mom and dad met in beauty school and by the time he was just a tot his dad was running the largest salon and school in the valley. It must be in his blood or something.

My sister's friend recommended him to me and I knew of him because I read an article. I had been going to the same girl for years but wanted to try something knew. I'm realy glad that I did.

Very quick and simple! I have known Sal for the last 4 years and he is the best there is in the greater Phoenix area!! He is the only guy i know that flies to fashion week in New York to do shows 2x a year. He tells you what he thinks is best and will work with you to make your hair the best it can be. Worth every penny and his salon is very laid back vs the cheesy stuff you get in Scottsdale.

I have been a client of Salvador's for many many years and I have to say that my hair has NEVER looked better. I always get compliments on my hair. Salvador is like no other -- first of all, he does a true dry cut. Anyone can "finish" the cut once it's dry but, few actually do the entire haircut dry. Luckily, those of us in the Phoenix area can experience a dry hair cut and how much better your hair looks after one. The haircut actually works with the way your hair naturally falls and you don't have to fight with your hair to style it. Second, Salvador tells you what works and doesn't work for you. As a seasoned Hair Stylist myself, and having a passion for hair, I had high expectations for the person whom I wanted to style my hair. I chose Sal because of his Dry Cutting technique, his expertise in analyzing hair texture, and evaluating face shapes and styling curly, long hair. He gave me the best haircut I had ever received and he continues to be flawless in his cuts every time I come in to get a hair service.

He has an eye for pure and natural beauty. He is more than just a Hair Stylist. Sal is an artist in his own element, a hair genius, and the mastermind behind his own hair product line--Extreme Therapy--which is amazing. He also works his magic in the fashion industry; which as a Hair Stylist, I find it very...cool! The ambiance at his Salon is quite the breath of fresh air and his personality and kindness is truly genuine.

This place is amazing, and Salvador is a true artist. Not only is he genius with shears, he is also an accomplished photographer, a talented musician, and an all around positive spirit.

Never in my life have I had such a great experience in a salon. As a man, I have always felt a little uneasy in the fancy Scottsdale salons. Nothing against them, or their clientele, but there is something a little uppity about them. Definitely not the case at Salvador's place.

As soon as I enter, I am greeted by Tahoe, his golden retriever who happens to be a certified service dog. So, have no fear if you are not a dog person, she will not bother you one bit. The salon, I learned, is more than just a place to get your hair cut and colored. Salvador holds hair tip classes, throws parties and has been known to host rock bands from time to time. OK, I'm getting off track here.

What I'm getting at is, the salon is a fantastic space. It is open and inviting. The walls are covered with photos and artwork by Salvador. There is a calmness about the space and it is inviting and relaxing.

Enough about the space. My haircut was the best I have ever had. Never have I felt so good about myself after a haircut. Not only did I look great, I felt fantastic.

Salvador is the best. I will never go elsewhere.

Only The Truth for Real

I've been going to Salvador Calvano for nearly five years and my hair and color have never looked better. I love the eclectic warehouse the salon is in, and Tahoe the golden retriever always greets me as a long lost friend. Salvador is warm, funny and immensely talented. His portfolio may include magazine covers, fashion models, movie stars and top designers, but he's a home town boy at heart. He always does an amazing job. Highly recommended!

I've been having my hair cut and colored by Salvador since he returned to Phoenix. I completely trust Salvador with my hair, after all he didn't earn his credentials by not knowing what he was doing and having the skills to back it up. You can pay as much or more with other hair stylists that don't have any of the experience Salvador has and they will sell you on any service just to make money off you, whether or not it's best for you. I recommend Salvador to all of my friends.
